The grid emitter is used to emit data into several Effex channels (such as smoke, temperature etc.) and is for example used in gaseous fluid simulation.
The emitter itself does not know anything about the target channels or which values to emit into these channels. This is defined by channel settings containers which provide the emitter with the necessary information.
